SQUADRON 42

Idris

The Idris in Squadron 42

Checked 2026-10-17

The Idris you live on in the campaign is the UEES Stanton. Buying an Idris in Star Citizen is a different transaction.

Source review: the secondary Idris-M reference describes the ship class, while the UEES Stanton article describes the fictional crew. Class operating-crew figures and the Stanton's complement are different measures. RSI's 2014 Idris Revamp explains why the flight deck grew to carry multiple Hornets.

Secondary reference stats, not a final SQ42 loadout. Class data and story complement are distinct.

What players were allowed to say about life on board

The published campaign summary describes crew interaction between missions. The Impound's secondary Manchester report attributes observations about shipboard activity to invited players; those observations are not this site's hands-on experience or a verified deck plan.

In Star Citizen the Idris is a pledge hull people pay for. In this campaign it is the assigned frigate. Owning one in the persistent universe is not required to serve on the Stanton, and the Stanton is not delivered as a personal hangar ship by any page I checked.

Questions I keep getting

Do I get an Idris in Squadron 42?

You are assigned to the UEES Stanton, an Idris-M. That is not the same as a personal Idris in your Star Citizen hangar.

Can I fly it?

Not confirmed. The pages describe exploration of the ship and a pilot role in a fighter seat, not command of the frigate.
