Cast
Gillian Anderson in Squadron 42
Checked 2026-10-17
Gillian Anderson plays Captain Rachel MacLaren. The character reference identifies her ship as the UEES Gauntlet, not the UEES Stanton.
Source review: RSI's 29 January 2016 interview confirms Anderson's participation. The secondary character wiki names Rachel MacLaren and the UEES Gauntlet, a Javelin destroyer. IMDb uses the shorter credit Captain MacLaren. Those are complementary descriptions, not evidence that her command is unknown.
Role and command
The character wiki identifies MacLaren as captain of the UEES Gauntlet. Noah White commands the separate frigate UEES Stanton. The two officers and ships should not be merged.
RSI published behind-the-scenes material and a longer Anderson interview in January 2016, so her role was public before the 2018 cinematic trailer. The general game screenshots on this page are not identified portraits of Anderson.
Questions I keep getting

Captain Rachel MacLaren, played by Gillian Anderson. IMDb drops the first name and writes Captain MacLaren.
Does she command the Stanton?
No. The secondary character reference places her on the UEES Gauntlet; Noah White commands the UEES Stanton.
